Reuse in action at Community Repaint Wirral

posted 20.08.2013

With the addition of Community Repaint Wirral at ReciproCity Wirral we were a little scarce on storage space at ReciproCity Wirral. The Recipro Team put their heads together to upcycle the surplus building materials we have available to create display stands for our new stock.

Using surplus materials we were able to create a worktop and under counter storage and display unit using one board of reclaimed hoarding as a useful work surface, lengths of reclaimed timber for the legs and a number of end of range kitchen units to create the display for paint and paint accessories. The units used include a number of cooker hoods, wine racks and various open display units.

In total the materials used to create this saved approximately 300kg of materials and 560kg of carbon. The cost of these materials at ReciproCity Wirral compared to purchasing new equates to a saving of a whopping £460.

It's not the first time we have got our hands dirty to do some DIY and upcycling check out our other upcycling projects.
